LAUNCHED 11 February 2014

African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP) is an outreach, education, and engagement initiative that targets African women entrepreneurs to promote business growth, increase trade both regionally and to U.S. markets through the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), create better business environments, and empower African women entrepreneurs to become voices of change in their communities.

AWEP-South Africa launched in Johannesburg on Tuesday, the 11th of February 2014.

Our Launch theme, which will inform our activities for 2014, is “Accelerating Intra-African trade among Women Entrepreneurs”. This will enable us to explore the drivers and blockages to African Women entrepreneurs trading with each other and how best to initiate enabling strategies through regional economic blocks. We will be announcing tangible programs underlining this theme early next year as we unveil our calendar of events. We will also outline the opportunities presented by being a member of AWEP-SA.
